Our Story
How did The Sparkle Project begin?
During lockdown 2020, one of my dear friends finally left her toxic marriage with her young daughters. I helped her on her monumentous day, shifting out personal items and food to her safe house.
Women's Refuge and the Nelson Women's Centre were instrumental with logistics of making this happen. I wanted to give back to these organisations who did such amazing work with my friend. I thought for some time of what to do, until one day my husband returned from the refuse centre with a jar of beads for me. And that is how it began!

So far ...
With the help of generous donations and kind hands, we've crafted and gifted over 2,500 pieces to more than 35 community groups and charities, including:
Nelson Women's Centre
Nelson Women’s Refuge
Nelson Cancer Society
Big Brothers, Big Sisters
The Christchurch Aunties
Picton RSA
Taranaki Retreat
The Nelson Police
and so many more.

Give A Little
Because sometimes we can't do it all alone — and a little help goes a long way.
We've set up a donations page to help cover some of the extra costs that come with growing this project — things like findings, tools, and supplies — so we can be more hands-on at community events and bring some exciting future ideas to life.
Every donation, big or small, helps us keep creating, connecting, and giving back.

A Message from the Queen
When I opened Rose & Luna in 2016, I never imagined it would grow into something so meaningful. Since launching The Sparkle Project, it’s become more than jewellery — it’s about connection, kindness, and community.
I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I hope future plans will help us reach even more people who need a little sparkle in their day.
To my incredible volunteers and supporters — thank you. I truly couldn’t do this without you.
A special royal shout-out to Queen Mum, Princess Razz, Baroness Margaret, Lady Felicity, Princess V, and King T — your love lights the way.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Rachel – Queen Rose
